PHOTO INSTRUCTIONS

Save your photos!

• When you receive your digital files, download them straight away, and then save them in 2-3 d ifferent places so they don’t get lost if something should happen to your computer – Just saving them on your hard drive is not enough.

• Ideally you will upload your photos on some sort of cloud service and onan external hard drive.

• You can purchase well-priced hard drives at Target and Costco.

Print Your Photos!

• The Castro is home to one of San Francisco’s premiere print shops: Photoworks!

• The paper I recommend using is under the ‘Fine Art’ heading and is called Hahnemuhle Photo Rag (or you can select any other matte paper , really)

• They also make Bamboo and glossy prints, which work great for grandparents!

• Mpix is a great online option that delivers right to your home. They also offer lots of fun photo-related and personalized gifts.

Frame Your Photos!

• Photoworks in The Castro offers amazing custom framing.

• Michaels does as well.

• You can also find vintage frames on Etsy, the Alameda Antiques Faire, aswell as the French Antique Fair in Marin.

• And for store-bought standard frames there’s Crate & Barrel, Pottery Barn, and Ikea!
